The American university campus has become a primary battleground for the hearts and minds of the next generation of leaders. Unfortunately, it is also an environment where anti-Israel sentiment and antisemitic harassment are frequently tolerated or even encouraged. The ZOA Campus Division was created to counter this trend, providing Jewish and pro-Israel students with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to stand up for the truth. Far from being passive victims of bias, students supported by the ZOA are becoming articulate and effective advocates for Israel’s rights.

The Campus Division’s approach is multifaceted, focusing on education, activism, and leadership development. One of its flagship programs is the ZOA Student Fellowship, which provides intensive training on Middle Eastern history, international law, and advocacy techniques. Fellows learn how to respond to common myths and misconceptions about Israel with factual, documented evidence. By equipping students with a deep understanding of the issues, the ZOA ensures that they are prepared to engage in debates with peers, faculty, and administrators.

In addition to training, the ZOA Campus Division provides direct support for student-led initiatives. This includes event grants for bringing in high-profile speakers, organizing educational fairs, and countering anti-Israel demonstrations. The ZOA also produces a wide range of educational materials—including its famous “Fact Cards”—which distill complex historical and political issues into accessible, easy-to-digest formats. These resources are invaluable for students who need to provide quick, accurate responses to the misinformation often found in campus newspapers or classroom discussions.

Beyond the immediate goal of defending Israel, the ZOA Campus Division is focused on long-term leadership. By fostering a sense of community and providing mentorship, the organization is building a network of young professionals who will carry their Zionist values into their future careers. Whether they go into law, politics, media, or business, these ZOA-trained individuals will be well-positioned to continue the work of advocacy. The ZOA’s investment in youth is an investment in the future of the US-Israel relationship, ensuring that the flame of Zionism continues to burn brightly in the next generation.
